Dear RiverRun Families,
We have
devoted a good amount of time this week to painting
dinosaurs and working on the Authors’
Tea stories. Illustrator Laura Hamor joined us again on Tuesday. She talked to the children about different
mediums used for illustrating and had lost of examples to show the
children. We learned that on the copy
right page of books it states the medium the illustrator used. Now that I know this I will be sure to check
that out.
Since the
children are enjoying grammar and often ask that we write sentences for them to
symbolize I purchased a nice new work from Mandala. The sentences are taken from books the
children may have read, like Max’s Ride.
They can symbolize and shelf-check after with the answer key. This work offers a real connection to books
they have read and allows them seek out these books on their own and extend
their grammar work.
Best Wishes,
Best Wishes,
Amy
and Rachel
