Friday Letter - 03.30.2012

3/30/12

Dear RiverRun Families,

This week during Writers Workshop we worked on stories written in the first person. We looked at Alexander, Who's Not (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It) Going To Move by Judith Viorst. The children were able to feel how Judith Viorst's character Alexander was talking to them. Many of the children wrote stories in the first person and shared them with the group.

We recently purchased a Grammar material, the Grammar Boxes, that are a staple in most lower elementary classroom. It is a beautiful work and is now on the shelves. This work is commonly used by first years and middles. I have started to give lessons on this work.

During the work period all the children have been working hard on their math facts. We have so many materials that make this fun and allow the children to work together across the age groups.

I loved the work that went home for Silver Graphics. I have always enjoyed the items I have purchased from them. I encourage you all to order something, they make great presents!

Have a great weekend,
Amy and Debbie
