Community Visitor - Recorders

On Monday, March 14th, Esther Willison visited the RiverRun classroom and discussed her recorder collection.  She played each of her wooden recorders and joined in with the students as they practiced simple songs on their own plastic recorders.  We learned about the five different kinds of recorders and how the larger they are, the lower or deeper the sound is.  We also learned about using brushes to clean the recorders.

Esther doesn't have a bass recorder (the largest), but showed us a photo of one.

Here is her tenor recorder.

Her alto recorder.

Her soprano recorder (which is the size the students' have).

And her sopranino recorder (the smallest).
