We had a wonderful time today at the DELICIOUS community luncheon! The students did a great job making meat and vegetarian chili dishes with rice and setting out the formal place settings. Many thanks to Amy for leading the children through this ambitious endeavor so beautifully!
Maria started things out by reading aloud "Autumn Fires" by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Friends and families feasted together and enjoyed each other's company
Dessert was prepared by the students as well - either a banana or apple rolled in honey and chopped peanuts. Yum!
Demonstrating what they've been doing during their daily sign language lessons with Nancy, the students also treated their friends and family to four songs accompanied with signing!
(Take a careful look at the picture and take a guess at what animal they're signing. The answer is at the bottom of this post.)

The remaining of the afternoon was filled with free art and free game-playing.
(If you guessed monkey to the signing question, you're right! If you didn't guess monkey, take another look. Can you see it now?)
