Friday Letter - 10.29.2010

October 29, 2010

Dear RiverRun Families,

This week we learned more about North America, the early days of our country, and Native Americans. We read stories, wrote stories, and even made a rainstick to use in a rain dance. Students discussed the differences between biographies and autobiographies and then tried their hand at writing one. The students also practiced their ASL presentations of four songs which they performed today after our family meal.  Game day and free art exploration rounded out our week this afternoon.

Please remember to send in your contribution of $5 per student and $1 per person for guests for the family meal to reimburse Amy for food costs.

Also, please note the important upcoming dates (below), with the first being Picture Day next Friday.  All students will get their individual photo taken as well as a class portrait and when proofs come in they will be sent home for optional purchase.

Best wishes to you for a safe and fun holiday weekend, Nancy

Upcoming Dates:

Friday, November 5th is Picture Day and will also be a Pizza Friday.
