Friday Letter - 03.02.2012

3/2/12

Dear RiverRun Families,

I am so happy to be sitting here typing while looking at snow. We had a ton of fun today playing in the snow. I hope we have a chance to play a little bit more before the temperature rises.

This week we studied how mountains are formed. We talked about volcanoes and gorges, and dome, folded and fault block mountains. We are also continuing to study rocks. Many children have brought in rocks from their homes for us to look at. Thank you. We are enjoying them all. We have many rocks in the classroom which need identifying. This has been a challenging work. The children have been hard at work studying the rocks and making educated guesses as to what they are.

The children have been working with Debbie on an art piece called “Winter Wonderland” . Some children have brought them home while others are still drying. They are fabulous. The kids really enjoyed the process of making them.

Some of the children submitted stories to the Open Door Bookstore. The stories are humorous and creative. The children are sharing their stories with each other now that they have been submitted.

I hope you all enjoy the weekend,

Amy and Debbie
