Friday Letter - 12.09.2011

Dear RiverRun Families,
This week the children have been working hard in all areas of the curriculum.
Some of the lessons given are as follows:
Elders
-dynamic adding and subtracting abstractly
-Novel studies
-The difference between there, their and they're
Middles
-novel studies
-homonyms
-dynamic addition and subtraction using the stamp game
First years
-symbolizing sentences which have spelling words in them
-novel studies
-dynamic addition with the Golden Beads
The children have also started using a typing program to teach keyboarding.
*Dynamic means there is a change in place value.
The class has been working hard on a project for Writer's Workshop. They will be sharing this work with you soon; you will really enjoy what they have done.
We look forward to our outing to see Peter Pan. Remember to pack a portable lunch which does not include items that need to be microwaved.
