RiverRun is expanding it's program in 2011-12!

RiverRun’s Upper Elementary Program will offer students in grades 4-6 a dynamic learning environment where they will receive individual and small group instruction, project based thematic studies, and opportunities to engage with their broader community. Montessori principles will set the tone of the class with an emphasis on peaceful social interactions, individual choice and responsibility, and retaining a child’s natural love of learning. A combination of Montessori materials, traditional textbooks, computers, field trips, and community projects will be utilized.

In launching this Upper Elementary Program, RiverRun provides the following:

  • Assurance that students enrolling in the Upper Elementary Program may remain at RiverRun through the 8th grade. Until our Middle School program has sufficient enrollment to warrant a separate classroom and instructor, students in grades 7-8 will continue to be a part of the Upper Elementary Class and will receive an individualized and appropriately challenging education.
  • Upper Elementary Preview – Sometime in April 2011, RiverRun’s new Upper El Head Directress, Debbie Castle, will offer a 3-5 day program preview in which potential students are invited to come together for a taste of what our Upper Elementary Program will offer next year. This preview has been developed with the intention of giving potential students hands-on experience and ownership of an educational option that they may have a voice in deciding upon.
