Exercises in Creativity

On January 28th, the class explored balloon engine-powered paper airplanes.

On February 4th, the students were divided into three groups to work on a 10-minute challenge.  Their task was to design something that could move marbles from Side A to Side B by going OVER the string (not under).  The rules they had to work with were:
1.  No person could cross the line of the string,
2.  Nothing could go under or touch the string, and
3.  Marbles had to go over the string one at a time.
The groups had one minute of silence for everyone to think, then nine minutes of discussing, building, and testing.  At the end of ten minutes, the groups tested out their designs with timed trials.
