RiverRun students have been studying measurement. On 1/7/11 they each measured themselves in literal feet (their own foot)! Here's how it's done.
1) Find a partner. Lay down on a piece of long paper and have your partner make a line to show how tall you are.
1) Find a partner. Lay down on a piece of long paper and have your partner make a line to show how tall you are.
2) Step in paint and then walk (bottom-to-top) down the paper going foot-to-foot with your green footprints.
3) Help partner to do the same.
4) Repeat with new partnership.
5) Tip: Wash well at the end.
Later, after the paint dries, you take a ruler and measure height in feet and inches to compare literal feet to standard measurement.
